And not only are you free from sin, but if you'll walk in the righteousness Jesus has given you, you'll rule over it.In the kingdom of God, righteousness is the scepter (see Heb. 1:8). It's what gives you authority. It is imputed to you the moment you're born again, and it makes you victorious over the world, the flesh, the devil and every enemy that comes against you.

January 15, 2009 - Struggles
I am finding today to be very difficult. I woke up for prayer and prayed for our alotted time. I got to work, anointed all my co-workers' offices, and prayed for them. I felt the spirit of God this morning. Now, I am struggling to overcome the odds with fasting. All but one of my co-workers had enticing Waffle House for breakfast. Cheese ( my favorite) is all around the office. I am having cravings like you would not believe, but with each struggle, I praise God. I know that my flesh is being brought into subjection. I looked at the Folks menu to order lunch as I knew I could get vegetables. However, most of their vegetables that I like are either fried or have meat. It is just amazing how creative Satan is with his enticements. Thank God for being an overcomer today. What about you ? How is the fast going for you?

Thought for the Day ( January 14, 2009)
Our thought for the day comes from Proverbs.
Prov. 3: 30 states "Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. " 3:33 further states that the curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked, but He blessed the habitation of the just."
Prov. 4: 23-27 " Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand or the left, remove thy foot from evil."
Remember, God judges the heart. We must safeguard it and protect it from all manner of evils. Be careful of what you take in today.

Follow up on Sunday's sermon part one
Pastor preached an awesome word on yesterday. The topic was "Fasting to overcome the Odds". He dealt with Mark 5. In my personal study, I studied the same story, just from the book of Luke. After repenting from attempting to go back to sleep yesterday morning, God and I had an awesome prayer and bible study. He blessed me with revelations regarding the demonically possessed man that I want to share. Please feel free to blog back your thoughts or insights.
1.) The demons recognized who Jesus was. The man, in his lost state of mind, recognizes that he has a need. The need was to rid himself of the demons. He further realizes that Jesus can do just what he needed him to do. Before we can come to Jesus for a solution, we must become transparent and acknowledge that there is a problem.
2.) The bible says the man had the problem for a long unspecified period of time. It does not matter how long we have dealt with our problems or trials, Jesus is able to deliver. Time is not an issue.
3.) The man wore no clothes. This represents transparency. There was nothing hidding the sin. To overcome, we must be truthful with God and with ourselves and become transparent.
4.) The man resided in the tombs. This represents him being shunned by society or being a castaway. There are people who view us a being castaways and misfits. He was away from society and isolated. Satan wants to isolate us.
5.) If demons tremble at the sound of the name Jesus, just imagine what they must do when they are forced to be in His presence.
6.) Again, the man was driven into the widerness by the demons. Satan will and wants to isolate us. He wants to get us away from where we need to be, which is among the saints ( those who can pray us thru trials). This is contrary to the Word which states forsake not the assembly of yourself with the saints. Satan seeks to get us to be isolated not just physically, but mentally. He wants us to believe that people will judge us if they know our struggles. He seeks to make us think that no one else is dealing with issues, or that we can handle it on our own.
7.) Demons realised who Jesus was and that He was sovereign. They understood that they had no power in His presence. The word "command" reveals that Jesus had exclusive power in the situation.

Today's thoughts
I am just excited about what God is doing and what He will continue to do throughout the year. I had an awesome conversation with the Lord last night and who would think that being chastised would be so enlighting. Simply put, He loves me enough to want me to get it right. I was struggling to not fall back asleep when I got up for prayer on Sunday and could feel myself drifting as I lie in bed praying. God let me know that this was not good enough. How can I move Him to act on my behalf when I can not put flesh aside for a commitment that I made to Him. Yes, it was one day and something that seems so minor, but remember, to whom much is given, much is required. What may seem small to others could potentially sway me from my assignment. I hope this board is an outlet for you to express your trials as well as your triumphs. I believe in this hour, transparency is key.

SECOND COMMANDMENT: AVOID ALL FORMS OF CONVERSATION ABOUT YOUR PAST HURTS, FEARS AND DISAPPOINTMENTS ETC. WHEN THOSE CONVERSATIONS COME TO A HAULT....FOR A MINUTE YOUR LIFE IS GOING
TO BEGAN TO FEEL LIKE A BLANK SHEET OF PAPER...........AND I WILL TELL YOU WHY LATER........BUT THIS COMMANDMENT IS KEY TO YOUR EMOTIONAL HEALING....THIS ONE MUST NEVER BE BROKEN!!!!!!!!!
